Spindle with whorl made of tortoiseshell Spindle with whorl: The spindle consists of a wooden stick, the upper end of which is thickened with resin. After 13.5 cm from the lower end of the stick, the whorl, a circular, flat bone disc, is attached. This is decorated with concentric, thin, incised circles and small dots, which were probably at least partially coloured black. Above the whorl, natural-coloured cotton is wound up to the tip of the stick (file B).
