The ridged iron blade is attached to a very short shaft via a slotted socket. The counterpart is a long, pointed iron spear shoe with a square cross-section, also attached to a socket. This type of spear is typical of the warriors of the Maasai tribe. Provenance: Central Africa (?). The object belongs to the estate of the chief physician general Georg Wilke (*1859 Dresden +1938 Rochlitz), which initially went to the teaching collection of the Rochlitz secondary school after his death and was transferred to the collection of Rochlitz Castle in the 1960s.
