Shield with feather jewellery
The shield is made of relatively soft wood and has a recessed handle on the back of the shield boss. The painting shows stylized faces as well as highly abstract depictions of birds on both sides of the boss. A braid or wrapping with rattan strips also serves to strengthen the shield.
