The uppermost tone hole is clogged, the body apparently broke at the lowest one. It was mended and is now concealed in the body shaft. The curved body is typical of the instrument. Both halves of the body are secured by seven interlocking brass bands between the tone holes and reinforced at both ends. The small funnel was secured with sealing wax. The rear longitudinal seam was also sealed;
