Legacy of Hugo Ficke (1840-1912), 1914
Hugo Ficke was an honorary museum director and member of the Freiburg city council. He acquired the instrument on his trip to Java between January and mid-February 1909. There, Ficke bought most of the gamelan instruments at markets, pawnshops and flea markets.
