There are two small sound holes at the front and on both sides of the funnel and a hole at the foot for attaching the carrying cord. The mouthpiece of this instrument is missing. In Turkey and neighbouring countries, zūrnā refers to a group of double-reed instruments with a funnel-shaped bell and fork insert.
