This Orta Zūrnā has a body made of light-coloured wood with circumferential grooves on the tube support as well as above the front grip hole and on the lower edge of the body. There are two small sound holes at the front and on both sides of the funnel and a hole at the foot for attaching the carrying cord. The mouthpiece of this instrument is missing.  In Turkey and neighbouring countries, zūrnā refers to a group of double-reed instruments with a funnel-shaped bell and fork insert.
