The instrument has eight frontal tone holes, but no thumb hole. The mouthpiece consists of four palm leaf segments. The body was reinforced at the top with a metal band. The shaft of the ornamental bronze funnel has been fitted with a series of circumferential rings and is finished with a band of stylised pearls.
