The scabbard was assembled from two wooden panels and then bound together at the sides and at the opening with bast threads. A pattern was worked onto the front of the scabbard using holes and fire decoration. Received from the Museum für Völkerkunde Berlin, from the "shipment of the Cameroon expedition (Dr Zintgraff)". In the catalogue there, the object is described as a "knife sheath Mabamba ma po". On the index card of the Landesmuseum Natur und Mensch Oldenburg the object is listed as "Knife sheath Malamba ma po".
