Object no. 119 (Object list Antonie Brandeis, 1st consignment April 1900, SAF D.Sm 35/1): "Kette. Marmat. White and black shells", ["schw. Cocos" crossed out].
The term "marmat" can be found in the collector's object list and was also included in the MNM's old inventory, but is probably a spelling mistake. In the Marshall Islands, the term "marmar" would be appropriate for necklaces of this type.
