Like no. 319 [III C 9884], but with twelve strings of twisted skin strips and a high wooden perforated bridge. In this two vertical rows of holes, each with six perforations. The bridge foot is a wooden plate bound between two raft-like round timbers, into the burnt hole of which the bridge is inserted. The string ends are wound and knotted directly around the neck and tied to a crosspiece behind the bridge perforation. The top skin is bound with strap-like projections to a tension ring wrapped in leather and resting on the underside of the shell. A double skin strap stretched between the neck spike and the tip of the bridge, which is then wrapped crosswise. A rectangular calabash opening and a star-shaped group of sound holes, both set in decorative nails. The membrane is also anchored in the calabash wall by an additional row of decorative nails. No retaining cord. Produced for export. from Ulrich Wegner: Afrikanische Saiteninstrumente, Staatliche Museen Berlin - SPK, 1984 (Appendix Object Catalogue)
