Lentz made the phonographic recordings as a participant in the German-Russian Alai-Pamir Expedition. The missing reels are not mentioned in the list sent to the PHA. The correspondence makes it clear that these reels were initially handed over to the Lautarchiv (Dr Bose) and were presumably lost there. Inscription: Lentz Pamir. Extensive correspondence is available. Transcriptions are in the Schneider estate in the EM. All texts are available in phonetic transcription and German translation. It is clear from the available documents that a joint publication with Schneider was planned, which did not appear (title cited in Schneider 1939: 277).
