The inside of the round clay bowl is decorated with angular and round geometric patterns, typical Kadiweu patterns. These are carved into the clay, the notches are traced with white paint and the resulting fields are painted with the following colours: Glossy black, olive green, ochre, reddish brown, cream. Note: The Kadiweu use the same patterns on their clay products as for body painting; see Strauss: Sad Tropics.
