The drum body, carved from wood, consists of a main section that tapers slightly towards the bottom and a clearly offset projecting foot; an undecorated bead is carved at the joint. The upper opening is covered with a leather membrane, the rolled edge of which is tied with a vegetable ligature to a rattan hoop, which is placed around the body about 4 cm below the membrane surface and fixed by means of numerous wooden wedges and another rattan hoop. A small coiled loop of plant material is attached to the latter.
