The long sides contain an incised, serrated ornamental band with monochrome colouring on the surfaces. One of the short sides contains a cylindrical handle with a sheet iron knob flared at the end. The strings of bast cords are passed through holes and knotted. A leather strap is attached to the instrument as a carrying aid. Provenance: Tanzania, East Africa. The object belongs to the estate of the senior general practitioner Georg Wilke (*1859 Dresden +1938 Rochlitz), which initially went to the teaching collection of the Rochlitz secondary school after his death and was transferred to the collection of Rochlitz Castle in the 1960s.
