model boat

Model of an outrigger boat from the Admiralty Islands, consisting of hull, outrigger frame and float. The lower part of the hull is coloured dark brown, while the upper part is lighter shades of brown. There are diamond-shaped decorations in light and dark brown along the upper edge of the hull as well as small triangular carvings along the edge of the boat at the transition to the outrigger frame. The two sterns are carved, stylised crocodile heads. The hull and float are made of wood, the outrigger frame of four bamboo poles. All parts are connected with plant fibres.
