Labelling of the collection: Lessing China. Documentation can only be found in the EB. According to a letter dated 16.1.34, documentation was in Hornbostel's hands in 1920. The correspondence (in the Lessing file) shows that these rolls were recorded by the missionary Margarete Beschnidt. Lessing was called in at Hornbostel's request to bring the rollers from China to Berlin. They were incorrectly labelled "Lessing China".
