Attribution - NonCommercial - ShareAlike 4.0 InternationalEyema byeri are figures made of wood that belonged to the byeri reliquary of the Fang living in Equitorial Guinea, Gabon and Cameroon. As guardian figures, they served to protect the human remains of the ancestors. The eyema byeri were placed on top of or attached to the cylindrical reliquary containers made of tree bark. This was done using a wooden spike on the underside of the figurine, which is well preserved on this object.
