This zūrnā, a woodwind instrument with a double reed, is characterised by its inner bore, which is cylindrical up to below the third finger hole and then conical. The compact body has a protruding bell that is richly decorated with ornamental grooves. The Armenian zūrnā is not as highly regarded as the duduk and is usually played at celebrations such as weddings.
