The ring is decorated with 2 horizontal lines at the side and 2 parallel serpentine lines at the top, which were carved into the clay and coloured with white. The delineated areas were coloured in ochre, dusky pink, reddish brown and black. Dusky pink and black shine like varnish. The opening was also edged in black. The outside of the opening is coloured reddish brown. Note: The Kadiweu use the same patterns on their clay products as for the body painting; see Strauss: Sad Tropics.
