An old inventory number is missing. Almost certainly object no. 161 from the object list for the 1st consignment from Brandeis in April 1900: "A necklace. Shell, cocos and human tooth" (SAF D.Sm 35/1), origin Nauru. The object had originally been given the new inventory number II/0781, but this was already occupied by another object from the Brandeis collection (old inv. no. 2147), hence it was re-inventoried. The objects in the Brandeis collection from Nauru were apparently collected by the local district governor Ludwig Kaiser (SAF C3/241/1).
