This sculptural figure probably does not come from the royal palace. Its poor craftsmanship speaks for a production for the colonial market after 1897. Before the conquest, such objects were mainly produced for the royal court and served the state cult. Nevertheless, a nobleman is depicted here with the ceremonial sword. Text: Dietmar Neitzke.
