The collection is labelled: PSS. The collection was taken during the so-called Nayarit Expedition. It comprises two parts: Part 1 (W. 1 - 52) was taken from the Cora, Part 2 (W. 53 - 96) from the Huichol. There is no separate documentation, but there are inscriptions on the roller boxes and the texts noted by Preuss. W. 19, 55 and 67 were included in the Dem. coll. as nos. 65 - 67. Brief correspondence exists on the Cora texts: The dictations by Preuss have been preserved, but do not correspond exactly with the recordings. The dictations of the Huichol texts have been lost. Transcriptions of some pieces by Hornbostel in Preuss (1912) and Ziehm (1976). W. 67 is published on the LP FE 4175. W. 24 is published on the CD 100 Jahre (1/32).content: religious chants and myths
