The round, deep clay bowl has finger-width indentations at irregular intervals around the rim. The inside is decorated with angular and round geometric patterns, typical Kadiweu patterns. These are notched into the clay, the notches are traced with white paint and the resulting fields are painted with the following colours: Glossy black, olive green, ochre, white, gold, dark brown. Note: The Kadiweu use the same patterns on their clay products as for body painting; see Strauss: Sad Tropics.
