The vessel is made from a single piece of wood. The basic shape is cylindrical with a slightly bulbous shape. However, the neck and the opening are considerably narrower than the basic shape. On one side, just below the neck, there is a protrusion with a hole through which a strip of leather has been pulled. The colour of the vessel varies between dark brown in the upper area and becomes more reddish towards the base. There are some defects, e.g. broken pieces at the opening, a continuous crack in the wood and a lesion on the side.
