The arms of the figure hang at the side. How did the object come to the Übersee-Museum? The collection originates from Oskar Haesner, representative of North German Lloyd in Simpsonhafen in the colony of German New Guinea. Museum director Hugo Schauinsland met him on his collecting trip in 1906 and commissioned him to collect for the museum. Nothing is yet known about the exact circumstances of the acquisition.
