Below them is the gate of the underworld with the "Golden Bridge" (which leads across the river of the underworld) behind it, over which two redeemed souls, accompanied by messengers of paradise with banners, are walking, awaited by angels on the other bank. Below this part of the picture is the text. The panel is framed by two dragons with the pearl above and below and on the sides by images of the four great kings of heaven. Translation of the Chinese characters: If you always think of Buddha and orientate your life towards him, then you can be led to (reach) the western paradise (from the index card text from around 1980). Postscript by Siegmar Nahser (February 2013): Nine further printing blocks from this acquisition are among the war losses. A print of this plate acquired in 1908 is also in the Berlin Museum (Inv. No. I D 22430).
